Portland Beavers unveil 2010 schedule

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Beavers will open the 2010 Pacific Coast League season at PGE Park on Thursday, April 8, against the Sacramento River Cats, it was announced today as the club released its regular-season schedule for the upcoming campaign.

The Beavers open the 144-game slate with an eight-game homestand, taking on Sacramento and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in a pair of four-game series, April 8-15.

Convenient and affordable season-ticket packages filled with great benefits are currently available by contacting the Beavers ticket office at (503) 553-5555. For more information on season tickets, mini-plans, flex plans, suites and group outings available for 2010, visit www.portlandbeavers.com.

The 2010 home schedule once again includes a traditional July 4 home game – this season against the Las Vegas 51s – and a host of afternoon/morning games.

The Beavers, who again play 72 games at home and 72 away, face each of their Pacific Conference North Division opponents (Colorado Springs, Salt Lake and Tacoma) as well as the four teams from the Pacific Conference South Division (Fresno, Las Vegas, Reno and Sacramento) a total of 16 times each (8 home, 8 road).

The unbalanced schedule pits Portland against the eight remaining teams from the American Conference’s two divisions for one, four-game series each; the Beavers will play host to Albuquerque, New Orleans, Oklahoma City and Round Rock. Likewise, the Beavers travel to Iowa, Memphis, Nashville and Omaha this year.

Portland, which begins its 10th season as the Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, rounds out the season with a four-game series against Las Vegas at PGE Park, Sept. 3-6.

The home schedule includes 32 weekend dates and 11 Thursday night games. Standard home game times will once again be 7:05 p.m. (Monday through Saturday) and 2:05 p.m. on Sundays. A complete schedule with away game times will be released at a later date.

A complete list of promotions on tap for the upcoming season and the Beavers’ FSN television schedule will be released at a later date also.
